Normally eight to ten treatment sessions are needed to provide a permanent reduction of hair growth. This is because at any given time some of the follicles in the treatment area won't be in the growth phase.

IPL and laser methods of long-term hair reduction both work using light energy to heat up and destroy the hair follicles. IPL is generally seen as a more gentle treatment, with less pain and faster treatment times than laser, so it’s great for more sensitive skins.
This is because it uses a broad spectrum of multiple light wavelengths, rather than the one strong beam of light used in laser treatments. IPL treatments generally take six to eight treatments to remove the hair in one area.
